Lifetime Guarantee - Natural Diamond Jewelry

We stand behind our products and believe your item will be free from manufacturing defects for the life of the piece. In the event a manufacturing defect is ever found, we will repair or replace that item at no charge. In addition, we will replace any diamond which in normal use has separated from the mounting.

Additional Coverage

Even with our lifetime warranty, it is important to have your jewelry insured in the event of loss, damage or theft. We trust Jewelers Mutual Insurance Company and its personal insurance options.  Based in Neenah Wisconsin, Jewelers Mutual has specialized in jewelry insurance for over a century and they make insuring jewelry quick and easy. For more information, visit Jewelers Mutual.

Complementary Services

We recommend having your item cleaned and inspected every six months or if it undergoes any potential trauma. Inspections may help prevent the loss of a stone and extend the life of your jewelry. In addition to cleaning and inspection, this warranty also includes complementary stone tightening, and polishing. We will also perform rhodium plating on white gold items at no charge once every 2 years. (Ask an associate why we don’t recommend this service more often than that.)

Lifetime Diamond Upgrade Privilege

Chalmers Jewelers will give the original purchaser 100% of the price paid on any natural loose diamond, stud earrings, or solitaire pendant toward another diamond that is at least double the original price up to $50,000.  (For diamond upgrades over $50,000 ask an associate for an evaluation.)  Original grading lab reports must accompany loose diamonds or there will be a $200 fee for replacement. This privilege does NOT apply to lab created diamonds.

Appraisal Service

With your new purchase, we are happy to include a complementary appraisal of the item. This appraisal also comes with a lifetime of replacement-value updates upon request. If we used an item not purchased at Chalmers Jewelers to create your item, a one-time appraisal cost for that portion of the appraisal would occur.

Conditions and exclusions

This manufacturer warranty is only available to the original person who purchased the covered product from Chalmers Jewelers.

Fine jewelry is not impervious to normal wear, activities or trauma.  Rings in particular are regularly subjected to considerable abuse. We do not provide warranties for damage due to normal wear.  Damage or loss that results from failure to obtain repairs necessary to maintain the integrity of the product are also not covered.  These occurrences would be covered under a recommended policy underwritten by Jewelers Mutual.

A complete loss, disappearance, or theft are not covered by ANY warranty that Chalmers, or any other jeweler can offer.  This is why we recommend a policy written by Jewelers Mutual Insurance - since they cover these types of loss.

We know we are good at what we do. We can’t say that about jewelers we don’t know.  Maintenance, repair, sizing and other service performed by someone other than Chalmers Jewelers will void this warranty.

Although diamond is the hardest natural substance, it is breakable. Therefore if a diamond chips or breaks during normal wear, it is not covered under our lifetime manufacturer defect guarantee.  A policy from Jeweler Mutual will cover this type of accident.

Chalmers Jewelers does not warranty any diamond or gemstone purchased elsewhere and set into our jewelry. There are no warranties expressed or implied, written or oral, other than set forth herein. The warrantor shall not be liable for incidental or consequential damages.

THE REALLY FINE PRINT....

Ok, so it's not fine print...but it's worthy of mentioning here.  Many jewelers overprice their jewelry - to offer you what they'll call the best warranties in the industry.  But those warranties WILL NOT cover loss or theft of your jewelry.  You'll be recommended to purchase a separate rider on your renters/homeowners or perhaps a policy from Jewelers Mutual.  But what you might not know.... is that a Jewelers Mutual policy would have covered most services including stone loss and damage to a ring - in addition to loss or theft!   So before you buy something based on a warranty,  know what is and isn't covered so you don't end up paying upfront, and then again in premiums.  See what Jewelers Mutual covers HERE.
