Deakin & Francis Propeller Cufflinks
Pickup currently unavailable
The 100 year anniversary of the Great War inspired a collection of new cufflink designs including these propeller cufflinks.
As brave soldiers were away fighting for their country, Deakin & Francis like most British businesses, were short of staff. This along with the decline in the need for the manufacturing of expensive jewellery lead to Deakin & Francis manufacturing patriotic gifts, such as soldier salt and pepper pots and trench lighters, used by soldiers to shield the flame to avoid being spotted by enemy snipers.
The original plane propellers used during the Great War were made from ash, cherry, mahogany, oak and walnut wood.
